ARTISTS PARTICIPATING IN THE 2006 EDITION / CONTAGION

The word contagion at first causes fear, it reminds us of the ancient and yet so contemporary fear or being touched by something negative, and that at the same time we can pass it on to someone we care about – says Luigi Maria Perotti – but his method has become one of the most powerful communication tools nowadays. This is reason why this year's contemporary arts biennale is dedicated to contagion, with a view to provide a photographic and realistic image of our society.
Contagion is a common theme that will be presented for 22 days, from the 5th to the 27 th of August 2006. It will emerge all over this Adriatic city, putting it under the siege of new expressive strategies and communicating forms with diverse visual impact.
Antonio Arevalo and Cristiano Seganfreddo, the curators of the Biennale have created two conceptual routes for their proposal "Raid" and "Aviaria" (Bird Flu).
